Red Fort and Qutab Minar (Delhi)

 

Delhi is probably the most well known city in India. As the capital of India, it is normally the first destination of tourists. Among the busy city life, this brings a perfect blend of old and new. You can experience in the ambiance of this old city in the old parts of Delhi, or live in the modern and fast paced city of New Delhi. The Red Fort dates back to the year 1648. Shah Jahan built this palace fortress during his rule as emperor. However, regardless of the age, it is beautifully preserved. Everything from the halls to the spectacular gardens surrounding the Red Fort look memorizing. Make sure to take a tour of this historic landmark if you are ever in Delhi. 

The Qutab Minar is ranked as one of the most popular attractions in India. It was built by the first Muslim ruler of India, Qutab-un-din Aikab, and is known as one of the oldest Cultural Memorial Site. Near the Qutab Minar also lies India’s oldest Mosque, Quwwat-ul-Islam. Here, visitors will also have the chance to look at a pillar dating back to the 4th century AD. 

Other attractions include the Indian Gate, the Bahai Lotus Temple, the Parliament Building, and many many more. Never a dull moment in Delhi, you are sure to find something to your liking.
